600,000 girls go missing in India every year- aborted before they are born; killed at childbirth; abandoned in infancy, allowed to die of mal-nourishment or lack of timely medical care.

As a part of A-Z Challenge, the blog will host a photograph of a woman who survived, along with a quote by a famous (or not so famous) woman.

What a shocking state of affairs. How did some parts of the world develop these customs? I guess the right question is: what can anyone do about it?

Our church screened the documentary Nefarious; Merchant of Souls about a month ago. It was a disturbing eye opener for so many of us. You could sense the rage and determination in the audience and several people have since stepped up to lead whoever wanted to join in fighting these horrific crimes.
